TexasDITS is led by Chris Wissinger, one of the first Digital Imaging Technicians!

In 1997 Chris was a camera assistant, camera operator and DoP working on film-based features, episodic and commercial projects when he was asked to join the Harris/ PBS DTV Express, a fully equipped digital education center on 18 wheels. The next 2 years took Chris on a cross country tour demonstrating the future of the HDTV & the Digital TV transition in the United States.

1999 brought rapid evolution in digital video technologies, and the traditional "film" industry was beginning to experiment with new digital workflows. Seizing the opportunity to merge his newly acquired HDTV knowledge with his traditional film production skills, Chris spent the next five years consulting (on & off set) for studios, producers, top directors and award-winning cinematographers.

Recognizing the potential of digital video, the International Cinematographers Guild (ICG) wanted its members to embrace cutting-edge digital video technology, and asked Chris to help educate them about electronic cinematography processes. In 2001, Chris accepted a ICG committee position... the committee's mission...to define the role and responsibilities of this new on-set "digital guru". This role went on to become known as the Digital Imaging Technician (DIT). Today, the impact of Chris's early work is undeniable, as the DIT has become an essential part of the industry, employed on millions of productions worldwide and influencing every frame in movies, TV shows, and commercials over the last 20 years.

Chris exited the film industry in 2004 to be with his growing family and pursue other interests. For the next 18 years Chris worked alongside millions of corporate workers ranging from leading the nation's first digital cinema transformation (from film to digital projection), video engineering hundreds of live events and as a Global Product Manager/ Marketing Manager developing dozens of bestselling products for professional video applications.

Fast-forward to today, Chris left this corporate job to reignite the passion and love of the media & entertainment production industry. Now, at the helm of TexasDITS, Chris brings a unique twist to the world of DIT—transforming it into a Data & Information Technology Solutions, a company-based Arlington, Texas.

Combining a unique set of learned skills and experiences including comprehensive on-location support, technical setup, network administration, workflow architecture, media management, Color pipelines, and Production and Post-Production IT assistance, his goal is to help move the industry forward again by developing and pioneering new IT based solutions, including the creation of the Production IT Manager, that he believes is the next evolution of skills required and REMOTE D.I.T. an innovative alternative to an on-set DIT.
